This one of the first pots I made. Big and heavy, like an oak tree.

I made it for a lamp base. Notice the hole for the electric cord. I have made a lot of ceramic lamp bases, but have yet to turn one into a lamp. I still intend to. The problem is that I want to make the entire lamp. What I envision for the shade is very elaborate and involves metal work. At the moment, I don't have the room to mix metal and clay.

I have made a number of incredible lamps in the past. Large, very large and elaborate lamps where I spend 200 hours and 2000 dollars making one! Am I crazy? Nope. You see the lamps and you will understand. The on/off switches for some of these lamps weight 30 or so pounds. I tell you that to tease your imagination. Anyway, that is off the subject. Back to pots.
