Steve and Greg Belhorn of Belhorn Auctions are going to auction two of my pots at their annual Pottery Auction in Zanesville, Ohio on July 14th. Steve Belhorn was the first person to ever offer one of my pots at auction. I have to thank you for that Steve.

One piece is one of my Wisteria Pots. (The wisterias are only available at auction.) You can click the pot to enlarge to actual size.

And the other side. (Which will not enlarge if you click.)

It is 10" tall and glazed on the inside as all of this batch of wisterias are.

And a picture of the bottom...

The second pot Steve Belhorn will auction is one of the best pots I ever made. And it is brand new. In fact it is the only one I have made to date. It's my new Sumac Pot. This is another line that will only be available at auction. This first one is soooo beautiful. (You can click it to enlarge.)

And another view that will not enlarge if you click it.

This pot is loosely glazed on the inside. Not a lot, but it is more interesting than a plain blue interior. And here is a picture of the bottom.

Now, I do not know why so many of the first pots of any given line are the best of that line. I don't understand. But that has been the case with me many times. Perhaps the pots that follow the one that provides the excitement and inspiration are always trying to "catch-up." Maybe I suddenly am burdened with a desire to imitate rather than innovate. I don't know. I'll see if I top this one and let you know.
