I know, I am behind schedule for an update but I have a lot of pics to show you. If you are on a dail-up line, my apologies for the size of this page. Onward... We had a particularily sticky snow that stuck to everything it touched. It was majical. And was inspiring.

I guarantee you will see this tree and snow image below show up on a pot.

Above is an elaborate pot. This pic is before the pot was finished and all the snow was created. Took a LOT of time. And then as it was drying it had problems that I had to go back to twice to solve.

And I threw a number of plain looking cylinders that will rely entirely on glaze to make them interesting.

Actaully, Amber- the woman that bought my last available Chive Pot (Thank you, Amber)- mentioned that I had said I would be making some things inspired by the northern lights. So I decided to make sure I had some plain and smooth cylinders and bowl shapes to paint those Alaskan inspired night skies. I am glad she mentioned it and I am excited about doin' them. Drippy colored images are made for high fired glazes that run when they melt.

I have made a lot of little -and big- gourd forms and the people that have them say I should make more of them. So I did. These gourds are inspired DIRECTLY by a number of crystaline glazed gourd forms by Robineau that are on display in the University City Public Library. Thank you Ms. Robineau!

I thought I would just show you this woodblock by Koitsu that I find so inspiring...

I draw pots out on my canvas covered work table when I am just messing with ideas. When I see something I like, it's make time. I did this drawing of a wisteria jardinare and immediately started it.

And this is what appeared after about ten days of workin' on it.

The above wisteria pot is close to the biggest thing I can throw with confidence. It is about 12" wide and 10 high and deceptivly thin. I was pushing the limit for thin when I was working on this one.

At the moment I am making a pot inspired by this Galle piece of glass

Thaaaa thhaaa thaats all folks...
