This is something new. I've made three of these Poppy pots in the last two or three years. They were "experimentals." I took the last two of them up to Zanesville last summer and they sold quickly.
And recently I was over at a collector friend's house and saw the first one I made. It was in a case full of European art pottery. I saw it and did not immediately recognize it as mine. I had forgotten I made this particular one. When I saw it, I said, "Damn Ed, what a beautiful pot, whose is...." What a great feeling to recognize it was mine. Espiecally since it stood up to a shelf full of artist signed European pottery.

I decided then and there that this Poppy pot had more potential for beauty than I remembered. This is the first of three that came out of the last kiln load.
