Above and below are a couple pics of making a mold for pressing out one of my 7" x 10" picture tiles with the ceramic frames. Above is the dusty black rubber master of my tile in the mold box. On top of the rubber goes a 1" x 3" steel channel frame a couple of layers of hardware cloth. Then I pour the plaster, let it sit for 24 hours...

Below is the finished mold with the rubber master removed and it spends three days in a 110 degree oven drying out.

Here is the finished tile. I intend to make some of these this year.

I intend to make the second tile in this series soon. Of course, I said that last year too. I did make something for a friend that is going to open some doors and gives many great ideas. A friend was leaving the Public Library after 25 years and I made this "book tile" for her. Ohhhh, do I have great ideas for this process!!!!

Been making some bigger pots...

I did bisque up a load as well...

Made a couple of realistic owls. Next, I want to stylize some owl forms.

A potter friend, Martha from Hot Springs, stopped by to visit and check out some pots. We had a great visit.

And as long as I am talking about and picturing friends, check the bathroom of my friend, Susan. She commisioned a potter in Nebraska to make her a lav and mirror. His name is Eric Abraham. Really wild. It is a fantasy piece that takes place in the clouds. I should have taken some detail pictures....
