As I mentioned, everything that came out of the last load has been reglazed. The head is picture below. Those pieces and some that follow are in the kiln and I am firing tonight.

This is how close the work is on the poplar tree pots. A word to the wise: should you admire my poplar pots (one is pictured on this link) I suggest you try to get one of these four when they become available. These four bring to ten the number of poplars I have made and I suspect I won't be making more.

Here is one in the spray booth. These four will have very dramatic night time and evening colors.

One will be covered with stars and will have Comet Hale-Bopp pictured on one side.

A little side project.

Here is the very beginning of a new design. Birch trees. And wait until you see what I do with the colors!!!! I feel I should start bragging now and tell you how they will compare to past birch tree pots by Schmidt and the like, but I better not. They may come out of the kiln as losers. I'll wait to compare them to the classics. (On the other hand, there may be no comparison!)

Finally two pictures of my "Mom&Dad" sculpture that I had a chance to revisit recently. Here are some pics from a few years ago. Indeed the piece is aging as predicted and soon there will be a void in the world. Actually there already is, since both my Mom and Dad have passed.

I was thinking that after all the soil erodes from it, I'll pack it with potting soil and load it up with flower seeds one spring. Then I'll temporarily retitle the piece as "Remembering Mom&Dad."

My interest in sculpture has of late been rekindeled and I am working on some things. More to follow soon.
