Let me show you what I have been up to. I have been making a lot of stuff, but a lot of that stuff can't be shown just yet. I bet you are tired of hearting that. Well, I am tired of saying it as well. I did take a break from glazing to throw some pots so that is what you will see most. I made a couple corn vases...

and a bunch of gourds. If you want to start a gourd collection, this is the year. Here are some of mine. I should be bringing at least 20 of them to Zanesville.

I have been throwing some laser pots- very clean and shapely. The tall A&C cylinders are destined to become birch tree pots- like this one. .

Here are half the gourds I made recently.

I have not made any of my "seedheads in the snow" pots for awhile.

I fired a couple of the baby gourds up as a test- they are still red hot in the picture. I always have to fire the gourds numerous times before I am happy with them. This is one thing that differenciates me from most other potters. Nearly every pot I make is unique. Admittedly, not all, but most. If you are making 50, a 100 or 500 of the same pot, you get the glazing down and repeat it. "Unerringly." Unfortunately, I am not interested in making that many of one design. (And that's why my pots are more expensive.) Of course I often "erringly" glaze pieces that don't meet expectations. That's the downside to not making 50, 100 or 500 of the same pot.

I decided to glaze a couple of my clocks. Boy, now here is tedious and close glazing. It is hard enough on the back and the eyes glazing big pots that have 30 glazes on them. But here I am scaling them down and still putting as many glazes on them as possible. (Yep, they are going to be expensive. But there will only be a few of them.)

When you start looking at my tiles, better start looking at the back. I have been getting quite expressive on the backs. And ultimately, the backs will become more important than the front. Probably not until I am gone though.

I don't want to do it, but I am spending a week reglazing pots.

Some more of those tile backs to watch out for.

Can you imagine what is on the front of this tile???

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...
