Ventilation of the kiln to the outside is via a 6" flexible vent duct. It is one of those stretchable ducts you can buy at Home Depot. The one end is attached to the collar on the exhaust fan and the other just slips over a 6" "take-off" fitting that is attached to the center of the lid of the kontainer. The flexible duct you see hanging above the kontainer top in this photo is not the 6" vent connected to the outside. The one pictured is a 4" that I use for other things.

The fellow that does my sheet metal work is very skilled. He did a beautiful job on this peaked top. If you are looking for a sheet metal man, most any heating and air conditioning shop can fold metal like this. You will have to give them at least a rough drawing with the measurements.

If you are lucky and the fabricator is online, you can just give him the measurements and tell him to log onto this website.

I think I paid about 500 for my kontainer. When you talk to whomever fabricates your kontainer, make sure to mention that you will working closely around the kontainer and that all edges have to have returns. That means the metal is folded back on itself so you won't be cut if you rub against it.The little door you see on the lid is not necessary. Notice how close you can place the kiln kontainer to walls and the like. Mine is about 8" from the windows. That is plenty of room as long as circulating air is not cut off by any obstruction.
